Sustainability - At Our Core

At THC Homes, we're not just building homes; we're crafting a sustainable future. Our commitment to the environment is unwavering, and our goal is clear: achieve net zero emissions whilst being kind to both people and planet. Here's how our vision aligns with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals:

1. Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7)

Our homes are designed to be super energy-efficient, reducing the need even for external energy sources. By incorporating green technologies like solar panels, heat pumps and heat recovery systems, we're paving the way for a future where homes generate their own clean energy and may even be able to profit from the excess.

2. Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11)

THC homes are more than just structures; they're sustainable living solutions. Our designs prioritize eco-friendly materials and practices, ensuring that our homes contribute positively to sustainable urbanisation.

3. Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12)

We're conscious of our production processes. By focusing on the production process of our homes where we minimise waste, and use items that can either be recycled at end of life, re-used or composted, that vast majority of our homes can have a positive impact - not a negative one.

4. Climate Action (SDG 13)

Our drive to be net zero is a direct response to the global climate crisis. By reducing our carbon footprint and promoting sustainable living, we're taking decisive action against climate change, by offering lower embodied carbon buildings and lower carbon operational emissions.

5. Partnerships to Achieve the Goal (SDG 17)

Collaboration is key. We're actively seeking partnerships with organizations and communities that share our vision for a sustainable future.

Human-Centered Approach to Housing Beyond the UN's SDGs, our commitment to sustainability is evident in our human-centered approach to housing. We recognize the dire need to reduce energy costs, especially during the current cost of living crisis. Our homes are not only energy-efficient but also promote healthier living environments. By moving away from traditional building materials like brick and concrete, we're championing timber-frame constructed homes, which play a pivotal role in reducing the built environment's embodied emissions.

Innovation at the Forefront Our journey towards net zero is fueled by innovation. We're continuously researching and integrating modern technologies, such as Perovskite Solar Panels and Sodium Batteries, through to innovative ways to harvest water, reuse it and even generate water from the air - all which helps to enhance our homes' sustainability quotient.
